Time flew by in the short mouths in between school years. Elois had spend most of it away from the charming castle. Her skills were in great demand the moment the students left the halls. It is true that her predictions were rather accurate. Various government officials or small villages or people in need of her gift pleaded for her help. She found lost people, pet, or things that mean something. She also gave a prediction of upcoming events in the future. She often chose which requests that took her away throughout the school year. All bets were off when summer came. Requests flooded through her window as it covered her desk, almost two centimeters thick. Her own private joke that everyone knew the school schedule. Breaks were usually just this bad with her time away from the castle.
Tonight, she stared up at the ceiling as a letter was placed in front of her, her fingers tracing lines up and down her drink. She had called off the rest of her appointments as she wanted to focus on the news. Her aunt and uncle sent her an owl that they received news of her father's passing. He had never been far from her thoughts as she would often look in on her father. He may have disowned her the moment he found out that she was a witch however she still loved him. It was not to say that her aunt and uncle did their best to step in when he abandoned her. He would, was, her flesh and blood which meant she would also love him.
Her thoughts turned to the love story that might have happened between her parents. She never met her mother however she wondered what effect she had on him. Her mother died soon after Elois was born. Maybe her mother was sweet and soften him or maybe she was the same temperament as him. Questions that she would never know the answers too. She played the various scenarios in her head as she pictured her father as a young man, carefree or serious. Memories of the protective, serious man flooded into her mind. He was there for her when she needed him most. He protected her when she was in trouble. Now she was on her own. As her aunt and uncle would tell her, she had a similar personality, just soften and belief in the impossible.
She took in a deep breath as she waited for the Headmistress and the other professors. She shivered as the sense of happiness flooded over almost everyone. It was slightly infectious as her grief was put aside. She knew with the addition of new professors, this would be a quiet get together for each of them to get to know each other. It was a rare time for her to be outside of her solitude for long periods as she would often feel drained to contain her natural gifts.

Mathias has taken this chance to explore the English countryside and found he enjoyed the walking and basically the exercise that being in Scotland provided. He enjoyed it and now the Headmistress has decided to summon him to the village that rested below the school. He had been told that students were allowed in their third or fourth year to go and enjoy a bit of freedom in the village. That was nice. He was currently walking down the main thoroughfare taking in the shops as the sun set on them. It wasn’t a bad place he thought to himself.
It was a short walk as he asked directions only once and found his way after that. He was surprised he had been lost in the first place. He was most likely just enjoying the village. He walked in the door and spotted the Headmistress and went and took a seat at the table.
“Ma’am a pleasure to be here. Anyone else here yet?”

Everything had changed in an instant. Lilith couldn't hide the letter; she couldn't keep lying by omission like this. They weren't normal beings; they were witches. Lilith had the foolish idea that getting out of the realm of magic would keep Salem safe. It would keep them both safe. 15 years of hiding, secrecy and living an entirely different life. Salem's abilities began early on, and Lil had covered up the incidents without fail. Being a Seer helped with that, however...she just couldn't do it anymore and she knew it. She couldn't deny her own daughter of their heritage.
So the day the owl came, the raven haired woman sat down and told the little one everything. Salem's intense curiosity sparked an unexpected happiness within the woman. A happiness she hadn't felt in, well, years. They had to be careful, for with their return, there would be those who weren't exactly thrilled that they had left.
The one and only Belatrix Lestrange.
Lilith would need to confront the woman eventually, but for now, she would teach the young minds some of the most important lessons they could learn: The Defense Against the Dark Arts. She only hoped that she could be half the teacher of her Severus...
The thought of the man made her smile. She yearned to hear his voice, feel his touch, and smell his cologne. No man could ever amount to have to Severus Snape. No manner how many random suitors her daughter seemed find (and how did she even find them? Lilith hadn't;t taught her anything about the internet!), no one could match him. Lilith was beginning to believe that she would only have one true love in her life.
Shaking off her thoughts, she tucked Salem in within her new quarters at Hogwarts. The child would be sorted the very next day and Lilith was excited for her. So many new discoveries were to be made here...
Clad in a black petticoat, corset, crimson cloak and black boots, Lilith made her way into the tavern. As the door opened, a flush of darkness fluttered around her. Walking toward the bar as her heels softly clinked onto the hardwood flooring, she removed her hood. Looking to her left, she smirked to the redhead "Well, hello Eloise." she smiled slightly "I'm a Seer, not a stalker..." she winked playfully.

Jeffery had been having a summer long argument with his step-sister that had began in the spring and was carried on in both English and French. Jeffery was more of the limited one when it came to French as his step-sister had mastery of French but when it came to some English words she was lacking. It had only been broken by the text she sat in front of him and then his work on that text. That was followed by meeting an elderly witch who identified herself as Headmistress McGonogall of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. He listened to her as he was reviewing the severely light text book on Muggle Studies. They spoke at length for quite some times and that sealed his decision. He would come help the headmistress with the kids. He didn't ever think he would be this world again but considering his incident he had no other recourse. He said he would have the materials amended and worthy of a curriculum that she would be impressed by. She didn't seem to think that was impressive but he worked throughout the rest of spring and summer to amend and expand it. When he was done he turned it to the headmistress who had the books printed. He kept the master copy in his 5" binder and he was now going to teach at Hogwarts. He didn't know that it was an interview or he would have purposely blown it.
The argument though was over the dress code that the 'Professors' were expected wear while teaching. He didn't like it but he was told he could wear regular clothing underneath it. He accepted it and was now finding his sister taking him to this place called Hogsmeade to meet some of the other teaching staff. Well either way it would be nice to get out his step-mother and father's house in France. He would be living at the school and all his things had already been transported to the quarters he would occupy at the school. That was what had started yet another argument. He was just done with his family prying into his life. Sure he had been MIA for three years but sent letters and snapshots from the places he had been to give proof of life. That should have been enough. He nearly beat those two wizards who accosted him in Wales and then apparated him to some dingy tavern in England and then off to the 'family' home in France. Where he was there with his step-sister, father, and step-mother. He had stopped calling her step-mom and calling her mom during that time. She had actually turned out to be a very nice person who loved his dad immensely. His brother visited from time to time. His step-sisters all visited and he actually spent a Christmas with them.
All in all he was ready to get out on his own again. He had a bit of cabin fever and wanted to teach and mold young minds.
The wooden door of the tavern was well worn but in good condition. It didn't squeak when he opened and the sounds of light conversation and laughter. The light that spilled out illuminated him in the doorway which he quickly entered and closed behind him. The sounds of his boots on the floor seemed very loud to him but no one gave him a look beyond his entry. He spotted the headmistress and made his way over to her. Once he had worked through the crowd he addressed her and she motioned to the table with two women. He nodded and gave the large blonde man next her an appraising look. He ordered a pint and made his way over to the women.
"Evening ladies...the headmistress said you two would be teaching this year as well. Is it ok if I join you?"

Minerva gave a tight smile as with a quick nod of her head at the newest of her professors. This meeting was for each of them to meet one another, old and new alike. It was also one of the rare moments that Elois made an appearance. She could hardly blame the woman between the demands of her jobs and gifts, she was usually taxed.
"It seems the other three are here. You were beaten by the red haired woman over there."
She made quick conversation with the Muggle studies professor. It would be a moment or two to see how everyone will interact. It was a tradition of sorts going back to the beginning, as long as time allowed it.
Elois tucked the letter away as her mind focused on the here and now. She just wished that she had been able to attend the funeral. She would make time to visit his gave soon. Well both of their graves now. Something told her that her parents were buried close together, despite the large secret that ended up tearing her away from him. The headmistress was insistent on her coming, even though she was even less in the mood.
The dark woman came up next to her. She was amused that the woman announced that she was a seer right off the bat. It was something that she did not tell people as they often had questions about the future. She was usually not in the mood to answer all the demands. She did wonder what the headmistress needed with two seers. It was rather odd, not that she would question it.
"Good evening, Lilth or is it Lil? I, too, have a way of finding out a name without asking." Her answer was short. It might be an odd way for her to make a small point.
It would seem that another was choosing to join them. She nodded at him, "You may join if you wish. Elois." She extended her hand. "And what will both of you be teaching? The school recently has gone through a bit of a staffing change."

Lilith smirked before taking a drink of meade “My apologies, dear. I run a shop back home and am still used to making sales by announcing my abilities out loud. Not that anyone really believes in the muggle world; however, the gimmick is there and the sales never cease.” She winked “And it’s Lilith, if you don’t mind.” She reserved her nickname only for those she was incredibly close to. Apart from her daughter, Snape had coined the name and he was forever gone now. She never let anyone in after that.
As the two men approached them, she slyly eyes each of them up, trying to determine their specialties with just their appearance. “Nice to meet you...” she cooed whimsically as her blue eyes glimmered under the dim lighting above.
Giving a smile to Elois, she attempted to bring her walls down just a little. It was a different time now, and she shouldn’t be so cold. It was nearly 14 years ago now and things had changed. There was a feeling in the air, however. A feeling that she just couldn’t let go...

Jeffery looked at both women as he nodded at them. They hadn’t given names but that was fine. His leg hurt and well he had been on it for most of the day unpacking them walking with the Game Keeper for a tour. That man was nice and knew the place well. He would have to pay him a visit in the evenings and share some of the tastes of home he brought with him. He wondered why he wasn’t present but that was ok. He sipped his pint as a large blonde man came up beside him. He gave him a glance and decided the best way was to speak first.
“I’m Jeffery.”
He grunted as he shifted his weight off his leg and decided the chair was the best place. He sat down as smoothly as he could and took out a bottle of aspirin from his coat and took two, popped them in his mouth, and swallowed them with a sip off his pint. Thirty minutes for a dulling of that low ache he was feeling. The real fact was he didn’t feel like being overly social or talkative. He was here though and at the behest of a set of parents one biological and one from his extended family to take a job he was suited for, that was what rankled him the most.

Mathias has a smile on his face when he approached the table. He looked at the women smiling. This was nice he didn’t mind being here. A tavern, a few drink, and company. The other guy introduced himself. He seemed a bit surly and a little grumpy. He let his thoughts turn to Masika and her spending time with the Game Keeper. He seemed very excited to meet her. She seemed to like being there. He was at ease when the man spoke it was curt and only a name. He seemed really nice.
“I’m Mathias and it’s a pleasure. Please don’t mind me. I’ve got to get this tiny pint down so I may enjoy another. What are your names?”
He looked at first Lilith and then Eloise. They were attractive and well he didn’t feel he needed a distraction. They would be one if he allowed them to be one. He wouldn’t though but life was well life but he had enough of a distraction with Masika and keeping her out of trouble.
“Let’s break this uncomfortable silence shall we. I teach Care of Magical Creatures. A dangerous subject some would say but really they are all just creatures who need to be understood. I have a select set for this year and to quiet any fears they are quite well kept. So what is it everyone else teaches?”
He smiled a bit bigger if possible as he waited for the answer.

Elois nodded her head to the names as others started to talk. Her navy eyes watched the actions of each man. She let their emotions roll over her. Pain and unhappiness from one with the other being pleasant. Lilith dripped with sadness. She took a sip of her drink as she decided how best to reply to them. It would be an interesting year.
"Elois, gentleman. It is a pleasure to meet everyone. I have been teaching at the school for quite a few years now. Study of Ancient runes mainly. There is a high demand for that class."
She had prearranged with the professor to switch their subjects at certain times. She could not put her finger on the others. She trusted that the headmistress knew what she was doing. She shuddered as a cold chill ran down her spine. Her eyes flicked as images flashed over her eyes. They were to quick to really see what it was. Why did she get the feeling that she would be having dark dreams.

Lilith looked to birth Mathias and Jeffrey. Her eyes scanned each of them as if in search for their souls. She felt their energies circle her and she revealed their auras. Mathias was a happy man, excited for anything that was thrown to him. He was too jovial for her taste, but nevertheless, she would oblige him with conversation. Jeffrey we hard to read. It was that or her powers were waning on her. That’s what she got for not being home in such a long time.
“I am the new professor of the Dark Arts.” She announced as she sipped her dark wine. “My name is Lilith. A pleasure, I’m sure.” She spoke softly as her hand set her drink on the bar. “Eloise, you’ve been teaching here for a few years, you say? How has it been? I trust things have been calm?” She asked, secretly questioning if it was safe to return. If there hadn’t been news of Belatrix, the things should be fine. No Deatheaters meant a safe place...

Jeffery nodded at both the women and turned his attention to his pint for the moment. When the large man spoke up and offered up what he was teaching that didn’t surprise him. He was large and built like a fucking bull so why not wrangle creatures and present to classes. How very educational.
“I’m Jeffery...I teach muggle studies. I also revised the sad manuscript that was being presented as muggle studies. It was a sorry piece of shit and I have to wonder how students from the school haven’t been confined to a mental institution with that garbage. Just my observation.”
He went back to his pint speaking only what was on his mind about the lacking material he had revised. It was a very mutable curriculum he had created and one that would serve them well over the year. He knew all his deliveries had been made and he was actually looking forward to covering the material.
“So if you would like to try anything that happens to come with my class, energy drinks, board games, soda, or just sugary sweets let me know I’ll be glad to accommodate.”
