#1) HAVE FUN!!!
This is the most important rule. If by any reason you are not having
fun, contact us and we will try to work things out in game so you are having
fun again. We also periodically send out feedback emails to all members to
make sure that fun is still at the forefront of our RPG game.
#2) BE RESPECTFUL TO EVERYONE
Respect everyone. If you have a problem with something another player
has said or done, please contact the owner(s) and / or moderators of list
through email.
3) NO FIGHTING OUT OF GAME / OUT OF CHARACTER IN THIS GROUP
We understand that at times, people may become upset with others, but
we don’t want this to interfere with the game, and especially the FUN FACTOR in
game. So please keep all personal arguments out of the group and PLEASE PLEASE
PLEASE contact us so we can intervene to resolve the problem / issue. Usually
things like this are simply resolved by lack of understanding or miscommunication.
#4) THE RATING OF THE GROUP – M FOR MATURE
This means the rating can range for G to NC-17.
If any posted content exceeds the rating of PG-13, it needs to be
notated in the SUBJECT HEADING of each post, as well as the TOP OF EACH POSTED
CONTENT with a subject warnding as to “Why.”
EXAMPLE: FOR A POST CONTAINING SEXUALITY AND VIOLENCE
Subject Header: Midnight Passion *NC-17* (Tag: Alex)
Above posted content warning / header: ***Warning*** This post
contains explicit material including Sexuality, Nudity, Violence, and Language.
If you want to know what happened in the mature post, but didn’t want
to read it, contact us and we can provide a censored / edited version of the
post through email.
All important plot lines will be covered in our summaries section, so if
anything important was covered in the mature post, it will be summarized in
summaries section.
#5) NO GOD-MODDING!!!
No taking control of other people’s characters.
If you are not sure if something you plan on doing in game is
God-Modding, please contact us and tell us what you are thinking so we can try
to help you out.
#6) GOD-MODDING EXCEPTION FOR OWNERS / MODERATORS
At times, for the purpose of the game, the owners and moderators may
have to move and play your character. In these circumstances we will always
let you know ahead of time with our plans, either by e-mail or before the post
as a general comment.
Examples of times when we control characters: To move your character
with a crowd, or to land a blow on your character by the enemy or another hero.
Please remember we only enforce this rule when we need to keep the game moving.
#7) GOD-LIKE CHARACTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED
Characters cannot be all-powerful, indestructible, or incapable of fault.
Every character has the ability to be killed, stopped, and wrong in
this game, even the main villain.
When members start to act god-like with their characters, the game for
the other members is no longer fun, plain and simple.
#8) BE ACTIVE WITH POSTING
You MUST post AT LEAST once every two weeks.
If for any reason you cannot abide by this rate of posting (due to real
life conflicts like work or school for example) please let us know! Then we
can arrange this in game to keep the game moving so it doesn’t stall and
potentially die. If posting isn’t weekly, we may start tempting your
character(s) to keep the game moving.
If you are having troubles finding what to post about or difficulties
getting into the game / storyline, please contact us so we can help you.
Remaining quiet and inactive will not help you. It also makes us feel like you
don’t want to be part of the group.
We understand that real life does come first and during real life
events sometimes we lose track of time. If you have not posted and/or
contacted us within a month and a half of your absence, your character(s) will
fall prey to the dark designs of the villain and become a prisoner.
After two and a half months of absence, if still no word, you will lose
your character(s) and it will be opened back up for other members to take.
9) CHARACTERS MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE POSTING IN GAME
Plain and simple, to bring a character in game, the appropriate
character profile must be filled out from our files section and then uploaded
to the “Pending Characters” folder as a TEXT file.
The owners and moderators will then review it. We may have to contact
you to make revisions before approval. This is to make sure each character
will fit into our storyline and plots.
If you have a character in mind that does not work with one of our
blank character files, please contact us to let us know and we can see what we
can work out.
10) IF IT IS NOT ON YOUR CHARACTER SHEET, YOUR CHARACTER CAN NOT DO IT
We understand that you may not possibly think of every little detail
when creating a character before you start playing it. So we simply ask, if
you think of anything that you may want to add / change / or drop in your
profile, please contact us so we can help you out with your request.
11) NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS (NPC’S)
NPC’s are characters that can be created at any given time by members,
moderators, and owners to help the game move freely and to keep posting active.
NPC’s can also be controlled by anyone at any given time. (For
Example: I create a waitress in the tea shop and have it interact with Haruka,
who is involved in the same thread with Michiru. When Michiru responds to
Haruka’s thread, she may take control of the waitress and use her in her post.)
If an NPC will be reoccurring in game in multiple scenes and multiple
posting threads, an NPC profile must be filled out. The reason being the NPC
is turning from a minor NPC to a more major NPC. (Example: A simple tea
waitress / waiter is turning in to a Naru or Umino.)
If at any given time a member is growing attached to the NPC and would
like to take them on as a full time character, then a full character profile
must be filled out.
12) TWO CHARACTER LIMIT FOR NEW MEMBERS
We limit two to start out so new members are not over whelmed, and
posting stays active. Even if you can handle more than two characters in other
groups, this is a new storyline, so it can be overwhelming at first.
If you are handling two characters just fine and want to take more, we
will honor your request.
If you cannot handle the extra characters (if posting is starting to
dwindle or there is a lack of posting) we will kindly ask you to drop the extra
characters. (The ones you are the least fond off or the ones you are lacking
the desire to post for.)
**This also includes original and canon characters
13) POSTING COURTESY
When posting in game, delete the previous post(s) so they are not
showing AT THE BOTTOM of your post or AT THE TOP of your post. Leaving
previous posts in your current post is just confusing and obstructs the flow of
game for other members when trying to read posts and reply.
If there is anything specific in a previous post that you want to
include in your post, you have a few options:
ONE- you can rewrite the subject or events of the previous post in your own
words through the eyes of the character you are posting for.
(For example:
If Alex was just shot, I could have Rei react to this by saying “The young
priestess was froze in fright, for she has never seen such violence happen
before her eyes. She made sure not to move, for she didn’t want the shooter to
turn on her and have the next bullet dedicated for her.)
TWO – you can use a combination of < > with coloring text. This is usually a
better option when dialogue is extensive in a post and you are replying to
questions. < > indicates these words were from a previous post. And if there
are many sections from a previous post, I will put all of those in a separate
color to help better organize my post so there is better flow with reading.
(For example – Rei is my character and she is replying to Justyce’s post with Alex…)
<Alex turned to Rei and asked, “What do you think of the head quarters?”>
Rei gave a sigh and replied, “I feel as if I am a prisoner. Can I at least
call my grandfather so he isn’t worried about me?”
If there are any questions about how to post, or if you want tips on how to
improve posting, please don’t hesitate in contacting us. This game is meant to
be fun, but following these simple guidelines in posting will help eliminate
stress and promote a fun atmosphere to RPG in.
14) CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS BY BLOOD
Plain and simple, if you want a character to be related to a previous
player’s character in game, you MUST first have the approval by the character’s
player and by the owner(s) and moderator(s).
15) DISIPLINARY ACTION
First is a warning through email.
Second will be some type of probation where posting is moderated.
Third is a suspension for a period of time.
Lastly, if everything we have tried just doesn’t resolve the problem at
hand, the last action is Banishment from the game.
On a side note, we want to emphasize that we strongly, strongly,
strongly value communication. And we try everything in our power to resolve
everything when we give out our first warning so we don’t have to take anything
to the second step. As I said before, through communication we can resolve
miscommunication. Remember Rule number one, the purpose of this game is to
have FUN!
16) MODERATED POSTING
New members are automatically moderated for posting. So please don’t
be alarmed if you don’t see your post posted right away, for a moderator or
owner has to approve it before it is posted. This is just a safety measure to
avoid spamming. Once spamming is not an issue, your status will be changed so
you can post freely, which is usually within the first 24 hours of you sending
your first post in game. (Your first OOC post in game saying hello, which
character you want, or something along that nature.)
17) WE ARE ALWAYS ACCEPTING NEW IDEAS, THOUGHTS, AND OPINIONS
This pertains to our rules, as well as other things in game, like
character development, plots, scenes, etc.
If you have an idea and feel it would be great for our group, please
drop us an email so we can talk about it.
If after reading these rules you still have questions, please please please do
not hesitate to ask the owner(s) or moderator(s).
